A three Day Convocation brings cheers to Manipal Campus
November is convocation time and thus an important month in the calendar of Manipal University. Three days of hectic activity with nearly 3,000 students and their parents attend the function. The University authorities take a great care to ensure that the programs unfold with military precision on all three days. It can be remembered here considering the eagerness huge number of students receiving degrees in person, the authorities of Manipal Universities have converted convocation into a three-day event.
In the 23rd edition of Manipal University’s convocation held in the month of Nov of 2016, students came from far and wide to receive their well-earned degree. This year, in particular, as the students teemed the KMC Greens with parents in tow, all eyes were eager to focus their sight on glorious alumni of MIT, Mr. Rajeev Suri, President and CEO of Nokia. Manipal University awarded honorary doctorate to Mr. Rajeev Suri, on day one of the convocation. Mr. Rajeev Suri graduated from Manipal Institute of Technology in EC in 1989.
Dr. Anil Sahasrabuddi, Chairman, AICTE delivered convocation address on Day one. Dr. H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, Manipal University Chaired the delegation. Dr H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor gave an overview of the University in a power point presentation. He highlighted achievements of individual institutions, research work being done in the university, accolades won during the course of the year, rankings by various agencies etc.
Dr. Rajeev Suri, who received his honorary doctoral degree from the University on Day one delivered the convocation address on day. It was interesting to note a majority of MIT students had enrolled on that day to receive the awards from the hands of Dr. Suri.
Mr. Praveen P Kadle, Founding Managing Director and CEO, Tata Capital, address the convocation on day three of the Convocation. Manipal University had made adequate arrangements to make it memorable in every sense.
